Meet the team that makes our programs come to life
Ryan Tomita
President
Ryan Tomita is a recent graduate of San Diego State University. He currently conducts pancreatic cancer research at the Salk Institute, where he is trying to make a difference in patients’ lives. He has participated in multiple exchanges with sister cities in California and has worked closely with other sister city organizations. His main goal is to establish more programs to make the ever-expanding world just a little bit closer to San Carlos and its sister cities.
Ami Dong
Secretary / Student Intern
Ami Dong is a senior at Carlmont High School with a longstanding passion for Japanese culture and international exchange. She has been involved with SCSCA since her freshman year, now serving as Secretary and Student Intern. Outside of her work with the organization, Ami is a member of Carlmont’s dance team and enjoys cooking and traveling.
Momoka Dhanuwidjaja
Marketing & Outreach
Momoka Dhanuwidjaja is a junior at San Diego State University studying International Business with an emphasis in Singapore and a minor in Chinese. She’s particularly interested in intercultural communication and enjoys learning how language, culture, and business intersect in today’s world. She is eager to explore opportunities that bring people together across cultures and build meaningful connections.
Thaddeus Duffy
Treasury
Thaddeus Duffy is a recent graduate of the University of Richmond and works in aerospace. He is interested in the confluence of cultural understanding and international business. Additionally, he also enjoys traveling, food, and relishes the opportunity to meet people of different backgrounds.
Matthew Hui
Event Coordination
Matthew Hui is currently an engineer working in the fixed wireless industry where he frequently works with other engineers across different countries. He has also participated in a year-long exchange program at Yokohama National University during college. He is passionate about global cultures and exploring diverse international perspectives.
